The seagulls fly over the mouth of the Elbe in the North Sea. School of herrings to the left, cries the seagull on the watch, and Kengah dives. But when she emerges the sea is covered in oil. She struggles to fly off and reach the land, but then she falls down, exhausted, on a balcony in Hamburg. Here there's a large black cat named Zorba, to whom the dying seagull entrusts the egg she's about to lay, not before having convinced the cat to promise her to hatch her egg, not to eat her child, and to teach it to fly. Zorba’s love will be enough to keep the first two promises. To keep the third, it will take a great idea and everybody’s help. Age: 9 years and up
